Working-Class Project

The Working-Class Project engages participants in an exploration of the Marxist understanding of the working class as the major force for necessary social change within US society.

The project has developed three major areas of work:  the Working-Class Think Tank, Mental Health for Activists, and the Writers’ Group Exchanges. In addition, there are many stand-alone activities. This project is also helping collect and present the products of working-class artists in various fields.

The Working-Class Project will continue to offer exciting and cutting-edge educational and cultural programming to help deepen the capacity of activists to deal with and respond to the changing conditions and the evolving needs of the working class.

The efforts of the Working-Class Project fall into three major categories:

  1. Organization – Develop forces to help build the mass movements.
  2. Wellbeing – Create support systems for activists, highlighting culture, art, song, and wellbeing workshops, classes, and articles.
  3. Education – Educate and train forces in working-class ideology applied to today’s conditions.
